English
English is a core area of study in the junior school and is compulsory until the end of year 10. All students will study the same course until the end of semester 1 year 10. In semester 2 students must choose between English and English Communication.
NOTE: Students who choose English Communication in Year 10 will be unable to study English in year 11.
General Description
During the course all students will study:
- Language skills
- Reading and comprehension
- Novels
- Short stories
- Plays
- Poetry
- Media (eg film, advertising)
Assessment will be in the form of assignments and tests and will include a range of written and spoken tasks.
