Manual Arts

Manual Arts is designed to engage students to use their cognitive and manipulative skills. Elements of Design are integrated into Junior workshop subjects General Workshop A (wood & plastic bias) and General Workshop B (metal & leather bias). Yr 8 students can choose to study Shop A, Shop B or Graphics for one term. Subject codes for the Year 8 units are SHA101, SHB101 and GRA101.

Year 9 students are given two opportunities to study the second unit 201 (during Semester 1 and Semester 2) and Year 10 students can study Unit 202 (Semester 1) while Units 301 and 302 are offered as 10 week units during Semester 2.

Graphics aims to translate often confusing verbal or written information into a clear, universal, visual language. It develops skills in drawing, researching, understanding, organising and selecting information, developing and refining ideas.
